Supervising a learner driver...

Convicted Driver Insurance

I hope somebody can clarify this for me.

I get my licence back next month, have sorted inaurance out etc etc.

My partner has a full automatic licence, car will be manual. Have put her as a named driver on the policy with a provisional licence so she can get some experience driving a manual along with taking lessons, so ultimately we can keep just one car.

As I see it, irrespective of my disqualification I have still held a full licence for over three years and am over 21, so provided the vehicle has L plates and valid insurance she can drive with myself in the car?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, once you have your licence back, you are over 21 and your disqualification time DOES count to the 3 years experience (strangely) so you can supervise a learner.

Thanks for clearing that up. Strangely enough my licence came back through the post today and indeed it has my entitlements dated from 2007 when I first passed.

Christmastree,
just to be absolutely clear, the advice I gave related to when your disqualification ends, not when you have your licence in your hand..... So no supervising yet!
