Dear All

Just a quick question that hopefully those of you in the know will be able to answer.

When the Doctor conducts the CDT test does the CDT (blood sample) show for diabetes or and liver abnormalities ?

Or would that be irrelevant due to the medical people only being concerned with CDT ?

If anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

The reason that DVLA moved to CDT tests instead of Liver Function Tests is because CDT is far more specific to indicating problems from alcohol abuse. They are not interested in other problems in this context, unless you disclose something in your questionnaire that might affect your ability to drive. In this case they would test separately for that.

You wouldn't happen to know the difference between the HRO1 2 3 etc would you ?

And what the difference makes during the reapplication ?

Thanks

They are just different classifications of what makes a person a High Risk Offender.
HRO1 is for a person who has a conviction where the reading was 2 1/2 times or more the legal limit.
HRO2 is for a person who has been disqualified for a drink driving offence twice within a 10 year period, whatever the readings were.
HRO3 is for a person who has failed to provide a sample.
There is no 'etc' as there are only 3 classifications.
the medical process is the same for any of the above.
