I'm new to all of this. I'm 23 years old and I've never been in trouble with the police before.

I went to York for August bank holiday (28th Aug 2010-30th Aug 2010).

Myself, my partner and a couple of friends went out and got merry. I had an argument with my partner and his friends don't really talk to me so I felt alone, I went back to the hotel and got into my car. There I drove a short distance (100 metres) from the car park to the petrol station to get some water to sober up. It was here I was arrested. I blew 81mg.

I spent the night in Prison and I have to go back to York to find out my punishment.

I suffer depression and anxiety. I co-operated fully with the Police I had no formal interview.

I've really learnt my lesson, I rely on my car so much and I've been unable to obtain any advice or even been informed if I need legal representation.

I'm willing to do anything I can, not to lower my ban but to also become more road aware. It's shocked me to the core that I could have killed somebody or myself. I'm even planning on making a donation to the families of victims of drink driving.

Please help, I don't know where to begin.

Getting the train to work is okay; getting used to a different routine hasn't been too bad. Having groceries delivered is fine, although I'd still prefer going to the supermarket as and when I want stuff rather than having to wait until the next day for stuff to arrive.

By far the worst thing is knowing that to everyone else I'm "the banned guy". People always mention it, whether by making a joke about it or just by asking how I'm finding it as a conversation-starter. Either way it seems to have become one of the defining foundations of my identity among my friends, casual acquaintences and even my own children.

Not much fun being banned. Not the end of the world, but a long and life-changing event for certain.

My home contents insurance was up for renewal recently and I decided to shop around for the best price. It turns out, though, that almost all insurers won't take me because I have a criminal conviction. It doesn't seem to matter whether the conviction is for drink driver or serial murder, it's just a straight yes or no question "do you have any convictions?"

The few insurers who will take me on want an extortionate price, and it isn't as if I could just neglect to mention my conviction because upon claiming these things are checked out and the insurance would be invalid and therefore a waste of money.

Worth checking on for those people who, like me, hadn't even though tof things like home insurance being an issue. The reasons for the above is i have never been in trouble before and didn't know what to do, i panicked and made a foolish and instantly regrettable decision, once i stopped the police took me to the station where i blew 55, i have never even been stopped in 10 years of driving and i have to use my vehicle every day for work to go and visit people.

I am scared,ashamed and also disappointed with my actions and i have no clue what i am meant to do, i have been issued with a court date and i am completely unaware of what the procedure is.

I will lose my job,house and fiancee if and when i inevitably get banned but everyone knows the rules before they do it so can only blame myself.

If anyone could give me any advice i would greatly appreciate it as i am trying to deal with this all on my own and i am seriously struggling

I have very recently (i.e yesterday) been involved in a crash having been drink driving. I take total responsibility and intend to plead guilty, if and when it comes to that, at the earliest possible opportunity.

I have a clean license, no previous convictions, am 29 years old and have never previously been before the British court system. I am full of remorse and was considering writing to the magestrate specifically to express this.

A couple of questions. One, I breathed "three times" or so the nurse said, I have no recolection of the accident. The policeman in hospital with me said I was not under arrest and took a blood sample. How long does this take to come back on average? I only ask because I am due to go on holiday in a fortnight's time and would appreciate knowing if i'll have to cancel.

Two, what is my likely punishment? I am so scared of going to jail. I'm in termoil (rightly) but please tell me what sentance I may get.

yes I got pulled over by the police, I got taken back to the station and didn't get home untill 8am the next day.

I wasn't that drunk (As in I wasn't falling over the place, I could see, talk write fine) and I was very friendly to the police.

I have 1 conviction that happened years ago, which was I was pulled over my the police and they found cannabis on me.....This was around 6 years ago so in court if they ask if I have any convictions, do I mention this? because it was so long ago?
I dont touch drugs anymore either...haven't for years.

I also have anxiety/depression which I had to tell them, as I had my medication on me.

I've read a bit about drink driving and I've read that you can go to prison :S
I'm so scared, I'm not a thug or anything, I teach piano, produce music, attend choir, have a degree and studying for another degree..

What do you think will be the outcome of my situation ? :( I really need advice....

I have been diagnosed with Depression and a Doctor (not my regular Doc) took me off my medication about 1 month ago. I have been feeling very depressed, irritable and am consuming more alcohol to cope since this happened. I mistakenly decided to drive the car to get a food takeaway.

I have an appointment with my own Doc tomorrow in the hope I can go back on medication (this was arranged a week ago).
