Husband lost control of car and spun out, blew 48

My husband lost control of the car and spun out. he was breathalyzed at the scene and arrested and later blew 48.
He maintains that he had only one pint after work but had not eaten at all that day. he is a chef and works in a hot environment and I'd be willing to bet that he was also dehydrated.
do we need legal representation? what is likely to happen? this is a really frightening situation for us.
