Good morning,

I had an accident and crash my car, no one was injured and no witnesses acording to the police.
I had been drinking and blew 116. i understand the limit is 35.
I was very cooperative with the police.
This is the first time this happen to me, I never been arrested before, this is a stupid mistake which I regret.
I was released on bail and face a court hearing on the 15th.
What is likely to happen to me?

For a first offence with a reading of 116 in breath the Magistrates guidelines advise the imposition of a 23-28 month disqualification and a community order. You should also be offered the option to attend the drink drive awareness course which would reduce the length of the disqualification by up to 25% upon completion. You can present mitigation to the Court to try and keep the sentence down to the lowest end of this range, and this can focus on any extenuating circumstances regarding the offence itself, or the impact that the sentence will have.

If you are interested in representation for the upcoming hearing you are welcome to contact my department on 0333 999 7158.
